Storm-free until end of July but monsoon rains still affecting Meteo Manila, parts of Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) off Batanes is expected to dissipate within 24 hours and no other storm has been forecast to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) until the end of July, the state weather bureau said on Tuesday.

Weather specialist Rhea Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA, estimated some 480 kilometers north-northwest of Itbayat, may eventually disintegrate.
