San Juan City probes claims of animal neglect

MANILA, Philippines — San Juan City said on Monday that the local government is investigating the alleged neglect of animals in its pound during the flooding from the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Carina.

'We are committed to identifying those responsible for this gross dereliction of duty and ensuring they are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,' the city government said in a statement.
