Late in the evening, 129 migrants from sub-Saharan Africa are helped by rescue services at one of the southern ports of Gran Canaria.
According to the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontex, nearly 20,000 people have tried to cross the Atlantic Ocean from Africa to reach the Spanish archipelago.
