PhilHealth clarifies funds transfer to come from govt subsidy, not members' contributions

THIS refers to the column by Mr. John Lesaca entitled 'Why, PhilHealth?' published last July 19, 2024.

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) would like to clarify that the portion of the funds to be transferred to the Bureau of the Treasury in compliance with the General Appropriations Act of 2024 and Department of Finance Circular 003-2024 are those from the unused portion of the national government subsidy released to PhilHealth through the GAA for indirect contributors. No funds from the contributions of paying members (direct contributors) are included.
