Choral group from Cavite wins in Italy

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite - The Coro Regina Coeli, a choral group from Mary Help of Christians Parish of Barangay Tejero here, reaped honors in the 61st International Choral Singing Competition (34th Grand Prix Seghizzi) on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at The Teatro Verdi in Gorizia, Italy.
The 24-member choral group won first prize in Category 2A Choral Performance of Folk and Traditional Songs and Category 2B Choral Elavoration of Spiritual and Gospel songs.

Regina Coeli also bagged third place in Sacred Polyphony from Romanticism to the Modern Period and Category 1D Profane Polyphony from Classicism to the Contemporary period.
The performers from Gen. Trias City also bagged the Best Traditional Costume award and the Best Choreography award for Renalie Dela Cruz Aquino
The Philippines is among the countries that entered the finals along with Hungary, Poland and Germany.
The local government of General Trias, under the leadership of Mayor Luis Ferrer IV, congratulated the choral group and promised to recognize its members when they return. DENNIS ABRINA
