Breaking, the urban dance where B-Boys and B-Girls will face-off in solo battles will make its Olympic debut in Paris on August 9.
One of the keys to be the best B-Boy or B-Girl is the ability to adapt to the music and find a balance between personality, creativity, originality and performance, said Garcia who made it to the final qualifiers but did not make it to the Olympic games.
The urban sport, which originated in the United States in the 1970s, was added by the International Olympic Committee to the Paris Games in 2024 to attract a younger, more urban audience.
Sixteen boys and 16 girls are expected to gather at Place de la Concorde, where other urban sports like skateboarding, 3x3 Basketball and BMX Freestyle will take place.
