MANILA, Philippines — The famous Kennon Road in Baguio City was closed on Tuesday due to a landslide and falling rocks as a result of a southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon "Carina."

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the order, contained in a memo, would ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and residents in the area and shall "remain in effect until suspended." On its Facebook page on Tuesday, the city's public information office said Kennon Road was closed to traffic "until further notice".
