The platform's access to news grew by 21 percent this year, compared to 2 percent in 2020. Considering TikTok's widespread popularity and increasing role as a news source in the Philippines, the platform must prioritize strong security and privacy measures. Users should exercise heightened caution and stay informed about the latest community guidelines to protect their personal information and ensure a safe online experience.
