THE 2025 national and local elections, synchronized with the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao elections, are slated in May next year. At this time, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is already going full blast in its preparations.
One of the areas that all stakeholders are worrying about is the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The Comelec should probably adopt the set of best practices and standards compiled by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to bolster information integrity in electoral processes.
