THE Philippine peso rose for a third straight day, and the stock market also hit a near three-month high on Thursday as rate cut expectations and positive news continued to boost sentiment

The currency strengthened by 4-and-a-half centavos to P58.25 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Market index (PSEi) added 17.30 points, or 0.26 percent, to end the day at 6,705.01.
