AYALA-LED Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) reported a 21.5-percent hike in net income for the first half to P30.6 billion, driven by robust revenues and sustained positive operating leverage.

In a filing, it said that earnings per share rose 14 percent to P5.80 from last year's P5.09, notwithstanding the additional shares issued for a merger with Robinsons Bank Corp. earlier in the year.
