Belle confirms that unit is seeking gaming license

TOURISM and leisure developer Belle Corp., a subsidiary of Sy-led SM Investments Corp. (SMIC), told the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday that unit Premium Leisure Corp. had applied for a gaming license.

It was responding to the bourse's query about a report that the firm was planning to put up a casino-resort north of Manila, about which it said that 'information on potential investments ... are still too preliminary, especially considering that the application for license has yet to be acted on ...'
