UP to 1,000 Filipino students are scheduled to be sent to Taiwan in the next few months to study for free under the Taiwan-Philippines Scholarship Program of the Taiwan-Philippines Educational Development Foundation Inc. (TPEDFI).

This was confirmed by Deputy Minister Dustin Yang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines in an interview during the launching of "Project: Ligaya," an outreach program of Taiwan community for orphanages held in Bustos, Bulacan, recently.
