Some Palaro records in athletics will not be recognized

CEBU CITY — Officials announced that several athletics records set during the 64th Palarong Pambansa will not be recognized due to a discrepancy in the lane markings of the newly refurbished Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) track oval.

A re-measurement conducted by Mendel Lopez Surveying Solutions showed that the CCSC track oval falls short by an average of 0.88 meters across all lanes, failing to meet the 400-meter international standard required by World Athletics.
