NAIROBI — Police in Kenya said on Monday they had arrested a suspected "serial killer" who had confessed to murdering 42 women before dumping their dismembered bodies in a garbage dump in the capital Nairobi.

Since Friday, a total of nine mutilated and dismembered bodies trussed in plastic bags have been pulled from the trash site in the Mukuru slum area in the capital's south, a gruesome discovery that has horrified the East African nation.
