Theater newbie Sue Ramirez shines bright in 'Little Shop of Horrors'

Sue Ramirez is no stranger to acting. On the big screen, she's proven her acting mettle both in supporting roles ("Just the Way You Are") and lead roles ("Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wi-Fi"). She's also become a household name thanks to multiple TV series, most notable of which was "The Broken Marriage Vow." But ever hungry for career growth, the 27-year-old took a big leap, wowing theater audiences not only with her acting skills but also with her singing in The Sandbox Collective's "Little Shop of Horrors: A Bloodthirsty Musical Comedy."

Based on the 1960 film by Roger Corman, "Little Shop of Horrors" tells the tale of Seymour Krelborn, a down-on-his-luck floral assistant, who discovers a mysterious plant with an insatiable appetite for human blood. As the plant — named Audrey II, after his coworker crush Audrey — grows and gains fame, Seymour finds himself tangled in a web of fame, love and moral dilemmas.
