Stronger action needed against food waste

FOOD security has long been one of the biggest challenges faced by the Philippines, and as recent surveys about consumers' concerns have shown, is the biggest worry for Filipino households, who consistently cite food prices, inflation and the availability of sufficient supply as areas they feel should be top priorities of the government. A substantial part of these concerns, both at the individual and government level, could immediately be alleviated if the country undertook more aggressive action to address food waste.
