FOLLOWING the statement of Leonardo DiCaprio calling her out over her threat to cancel the 2017 memorandum of agreement (MoA) between the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Masungi Georeserve Foundation Inc. (MGFI), Environment Secretary Maria Antonio Yulo-Loyzaga declared that no one is above the law.

This is with reference to her agency's charge that MGFI had violated the law when it allegedly operated a resort in a protected area, which is actually a bald-faced lie considering that first, it is not a resort but a conservation site with environmentally friendly amenities for paying visitors, and second, that it is within a titled property which was the site of a housing project, which technically is no longer part of the protected area. The said titled property was the subject of a 1997 joint venture agreement (JVA) between the DENR and Blue Star Development Corp. (BSDC), a construction firm which is also the parent company of MGFI.
