Hot start by Central Visayas in Palarong Pambansa

CEBU CITY — Host Central Visayas made a powerful statement at the start of the 64th Palarong Pambansa as it secured 13 gold medals on Thursday.

Leading the charge for the region's bid to claim the overall championship this year was Asia Paraase, a rising track star from Pajo National High School in Lapu-Lapu City, who claimed Palarong Pambansa 2024 first gold by topping the secondary girls' 3,000-meter run at the Cebu City Sports Center.
