Dean breaks 2 Palarong Pambansa swimming records

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Calabarzon swimmer Peter Cyrus Dean established two new records in the secondary boys division at the Palarong Pambansa at the Cebu City Sports Center on Friday.
Dean clocked 2:12.14 to post a new record in boys secondary 200-meter individual medley, beating the old record by 0.44 seconds which was established by Phillip Joaquin Santos of the National Capital Region in 2019.
The Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation standout then set the record in the team event as he teamed up with Joart Calderon, Reinelle Jan Trinidad and TJ Amaro to clock at 3:58.39 and erase the previous mark of 4:00.75, also by NCR.
Calabarzon now has two multi-gold medal winners in swimming, the other being Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh, who won three gold medals girls secondary 200m butterfly, 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.
