AGNO, Pangasinan — Twenty-one-year-old Jerry May Navida was surprised to learn on Tuesday that the contents of the aqua blue packs he and his friends found last month on the rocky shores of Gayusan village here turned out to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

"We really did not know it was shabu. We thought it was tawas (potassium alum)," said Navida in a telephone interview on Wednesday.
