Labour wins in UK polls as Sunak concedes defeat

(UPDATE) LONDON — United Kingdom Labour leader Keir Starmer on Friday said Britain was 'ready for change,' as his party defeated the ruling Conservatives in a landslide election win, ending 14 years of Conservative rule.

'Today we start the next chapter — begin the work of change, the mission of national renewal, and start to rebuild our country,' Starmer said in a triumphant victory speech in London, after his party secured a majority in parliament.'
