The historic upset win of Gilas Pilipinas over Latvia shook the basketball world by storm. It obviously shook Georgia, who anticipated that Latvia would walk all over the Philippines. As a result, Philippines made the semis and Georgia got eliminated.
Even their strategy to try and tie the game by shooting the ball into their own basket is a testimony to how they underestimated the Philippines. Did they expect to ouscore Gilas Pilipinas by 19 points in 5 minutes?
