Arcilla retains Gov. Dimaporo crown as Acabo retires

MANILA, Philippines — Johnny Arcilla secured another Open crown, adding to his impressive collection with a victory in the Gov. Imelda Dimaporo National Open at the Mindanao Civic Center court in Lanao del Norte recently.

Unlike his hard-fought three-set victory over Eric Jed Olivarez in last month's Olivarez Cup, however, this win came more easily as his opponent, Alexis Acabo, retired due to fatigue after the opening set, which Arcilla won, 6-1.
