Xiangqi or Chinese chess may not be popular yet in the country but the people behind the Philippine Xiangqi Federation are hoping this major tournament can entice more Filipinos to play the game.

Philippine Xiangqi Federation President Wilson Zhou said the Philippine Xiangqi Open Tournament, slated at the federation's headquarters in Binondo, Manila on July 7, 13 and 14, offers a total prize money of P213,000.
