Whole-of-Society approach in addressing employment challenges
Industry associations fully support the government’s job generation agenda as they collaborate with the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) on its employment facilitation programs through Project J.O.B.S. – Job Opportunities, Building Skills. The partnership was formalized through the Memorandum of Agreement signing that was led by Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma (top photo, 10th from left) during the 45th National Conference of Employers held on June 26, 2024, in Manila. Partnering with the DoLE to create more employment opportunities and enhance the skills of the workforce are the Private Sector Jobs and Skills Corporation, Employers Confederation of the Philippines, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc., IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines, Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation Inc., Philippine Constructors Association Inc., Philippine Hotel Owners Association Inc., Philippine Association of Legitimate Service Contractors, and Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Association. Under the agreement, the DOLE shall provide technical and allied support services to the industry associations on the implementation of its youth employability programs, such as the Special Program for the Employment of Students and the JobStart Philippines Program; assist employers in the registration to the Public Employment Information System and/or the PhilJobNet portal; and enhance collaboration with the relevant Public Employment Service Office for job fairs organized by the industry associations, among others.
