GM Antonio favored in Oaminal chess tournament

Grandmaster Rogelio 'Joey' Antonio Jr. will try to live up to his reputation as the country's premiere chess master and ironman as he vies for the crown in the 2nd Gov. Henry Oaminal Open Chess Tournament on July 9-10 at AYA Hotel and Residences in Clarin, Misamis Occidental.

The 62-year-old Antonio, however, will be tested to the hilt by fellow GM Darwin Laylo and International Masters Daniel Quizon, Michael Concio Jr, Rolando Nolte, Ronald Bancod, Angelo Abundo Young, Chito Garma, Eric Labog Jr., Ronald Dableo and Joel Pimentel, the defending champion.
