Cybersecurity experts react to PH hacking

THE recent reports on data breaches, data leaks, the arrest of hackers in the Philippines, and allegations involving a technology editor provide a prime example of the persistent cyberthreats that organizations face today — even from trusted sources.

"Threat actors can have a wide range of strategic motivations, from financial gain to espionage, or in this case, allegations of data theft for career advancement," said Anne Cutler, cybersecurity expert from Keeper Security. "These attacks underscore the need for continued cybersecurity investment and prioritization to combat the growing threat of cyberattacks."
