China eyes reforms ahead of summit

BEIJING — Chinese President Xi Jinping said Friday that the ruling Communist Party was determined to plan and implement key reforms prior to a closely watched political congress with economic recovery on top of its agenda.

Policymakers in China have attempted to reignite growth since the end of strict pandemic health curbs in late 2022.
