SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands — Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was freed by a US judge on Wednesday after pleading guilty in violating a United States espionage law.

"With this pronouncement, it appears that you will be able to walk out of this courtroom a free man," Judge Ramona Manglona said in a court in the Northern Mariana Islands, a US Pacific territory.
