Why Marawi is a national treasure

JUNE 5 passed as World Environment Day. My hometown Marawi is host to the largest energy source for Mindanao, Lake Lanao, which is tapped into by the National Power Corp.

Lanao means water, so essentially, we Meranaos are people of the lake. We are thus tasked to protect the lake even without a legal mandate.
