Zambales detainees get free legal aid

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Recognizing the need for legal assistance for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), the Department of Justice's Parole and Probation Administration (DoJ-PPA) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Zambales-Olongapo Chapter have forged an agreement to meet this objective.

PPA Administrator Bienvenido Benitez Jr. and IBP Zambales-Olongapo Chapter President Dahlia Salamat led the signing of a memorandum of agreement held at the Segara Suites inside this freeport on Tuesday, as they sought to expand 'the access of PDLs to legal assistance that may be afforded to them.'
