(UPDATES) THE United States welcomed the acquittal of former senator Leila de Lima on the last pending drug charge against her, and reiterated its appeal to the Philippine government to resolve "politically motivated" cases.
In a statement on Tuesday (Manila Time), US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the US welcomed de Lima's acquittal on the final criminal charge against her.
