'Why not adopt a teacher protection policy in schools too?'

IN my recent lecture where I discussed the Department of Education's child protection policy and relevant laws on child protection, I was asked by a teacher this question:

"While we support a child protection policy for our learners because of their vulnerability to all forms of abuses, teachers also need protection in their role in the education of children. Why not adopt a teacher protection policy in schools too?"
