JAKARTA — Indonesia is using a weather modification technique known as cloud seeding around the site of its future capital to reduce intense rains that have hampered construction of the new city, a weather agency official said on Friday.
The planned city of Nusantara is set to begin operating on August 17, replacing traffic-clogged and sinking Jakarta as the Southeast Asian country's new capital.
