ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo Provincial Health Office (IPHO) has reported a significant depletion of rabies vaccines, raising concerns about a potential shortage as the number of animal bite cases in the province continues to rise.

In the first quarter of 2024, IPHO data showed that the province recorded at least 14,632 cases of dog and cat bites, including three rabies-related fatalities reported in the towns of Pototan, Dumangas and Alimodian.
