IT is graduation season once again. As expected, social media is deluged with videos and photos of graduation ceremonies, graduation parties and all sorts of binging. For the graduates, it is their moment to celebrate academic victories, which are a step toward the fulfillment of their dreams. For many parents, it is the start of thinking about the return on investment since they spent a lot on their children's education.

It is my well-intended wish and hope that this year's graduates would not just be additional statistics on the country's unemployed or additional pages in the thick records of those who travel to developed countries — a sad reality because those who leave the country happen to be our finest human exports. The Philippines could benefit more from their expertise.
