(UPDATE) FILIPINA tennis ace Alex Eala opened her campaign at the 2024 Veneto Open in Gaiba, Italy, with a victory over France's Carole Monnet.

In the women's singles round of 32 on Tuesday, Eala beat Monnet in two sets, 6-3, 7-5, advancing to the tournament's round of 16.
