MANILA, Philippines — It will be storm-free weather until the weekend save for overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in parts of the archipelago caused by the southwest monsoon or "habagat," the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday.

Weather specialist Aldczar Aurellio said that habagat would be affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
