Iran picks up first win in VNL at USA's expense

MANILA, Philippines — Iran earned its first win in the 2024 Men's Volleyball Nations League (VNL), outlasting the United States of America, 26-28, 25-23, 25-18, 26-28, 15-13, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

Hossein Poriya amassed 22 points including the clincher to lead the Iranians, who improved to a 1-8 slate but still sits at the bottom of the 16-team field.
