Modernizing domestic shipping needs legislative support, fair competition

DOMESTIC shipping is crucial for safety and competitiveness, necessitating legislative support, fair competition and incentives to enable local operators to thrive.

The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), the Department of Transportation (DoTr), and key industry players like FastCat are leading efforts to reform the sector, addressing issues from outdated infrastructure to unfair competition.
