CSOs encouraged to join legislative process

BACOLOD CITY — Himamaylan City Vice Mayor Justin Gatuslao wants representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs) to sit in the different committees created by the city council and participate in the discussions.

In a statement sent to The Manila Times over the weekend, Gatuslao said the Himamaylan City Council recently passed an amendment to its internal rules which significantly expands the role of CSOs in the legislative affairs.
