That's the greatness in Chris Newsome. Whether it's inside or outside the court, he's a gentleman. He's not making dirty or complaining to the referees like the others at all times.
He just plays it clean. But his greatness came during the last FIBA World Cup we hosted here a few months ago.
The Gilas coaching staff didn't select him to join the national team but he insisted to stay on and all of us could see him helping the Gilas team as a ballboy during practices and warm ups, even during halftimes.
Now, the same fellow is shooting 40 points during the PBA finals and the true leader of the Meralco five. Coaches should have their eyes examined. Shame on you.
Win or lose, not only in the statistics, he should be the MVP for this year. It's not only in the numbers. Aside from that, he has contained the hottest guy on the other side, San Miguel's CP Perez. Defensively, he's also the gem holding Meralco together.
