ILOILO CITY — Dengue cases in Western Visayas have surged to nearly 3,500 with nine fatalities as of the first week of June, the Department of Health Region 6 (DoH-6) reported.

The DoH-6 said that it has recorded 199 new dengue cases in the region from June 2 to 8, raising the total count to 3,482. This represents a 22 percent increase compared to the 2,855 cases recorded during the same period in 2023.
