IN a blazing and outrageous display of abuse of authority and blatant violation of the procedure laid down by Rules of Court in serving a warrant of arrest, a heavily armed component of the Philippine National Police, Special Action Force, and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in the early morning of June 10, 2024, simultaneously swooped down on four church grounds of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) located in Buhangin and Tamayong, Davao City, Glory Mountain in QSands Baptismal Resort in Samal Island, and Kitbug Compound in Malungan, Sarangani Province — to serve an arrest warrant on religious leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
In brazen disregard of the traditional respect accorded religious institutions, utterly ignoring the safety of its members, and using unwarranted force and intimidation, the camouflage uniformed police contingent in battle gear scaled the gate and forcibly opened it. Their presence scared the civilians and traumatized the children and senior citizens who were awakened from their sleep due to the uproar and the chaos that the law enforcers created.
