CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Despite the declaration by the Philippine weather agency that the rainy season has already begun in the country, Oriental Mindoro continues to experience extreme heat as shown by the latest heat index forecasted by the agency.

In a public advisory on Friday, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) warned residents of possible heat cramps, exhaustion and heat stroke as the forecasted heat index in the city and neighboring towns reached a record high of 43 degrees Celsius.
