Central Visayas to lose 14% of economy under NIR

CEBU CITY — Central Visayas stands to lose 14 percent of its economy equivalent to about P179 billion, due to the separation of Negros Oriental and Siquijor from the region.

This change comes after the passage of the law establishing the Negros Island Region (NIR).
