Filipino local legend scores Order of Australia Medal

LONGTIME Paynesville resident Wilhelmina 'Mina' Armstrong has been awarded the Order of Australia Medal for services to the community of East Gippsland.

The Order of Australia is the preeminent way of Australians to recognize the achievements and service of fellow citizens. Since emigrating to Paynesville from the Philippines in 1978, Armstrong has been a passionate advocate for local causes across a wide range of endeavors.
