'Freedom' means something else for overseas Filipinos

I DON'T think President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration — and future administrations — can ever realize the vision of 'Filipinos working overseas will be a choice and not a necessity.'

Let's accept the socioeconomic reality that working overseas provides more income and comfort to family members back home. The overseas Filipino also has more professional fulfillment, especially if he or she works in global companies or in United Arab Emirates (UAE)/Middle East businesses, where merits and contributions are the basis for a promotion, raise and even bonus.
