DoJ sees extradition of Teves

THE government remains optimistic that expelled congressman Arnolfo Teves Jr. will be sent back to the Philippines to face murder charges despite his efforts to stay in Timor Leste.

The Department of Justice (DoJ) issued this statement Tuesday after Teves, tagged as the mastermind in the March 4, 2023 assassination of Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo and five other people, was rearrested by the Polícia Nacional of Timor Leste (PNTL) following his temporary release.
